This drive's head assembly became stuck to the system area during use. My guess is that the laptop had been exposed to extreme heat and direct sunlight while stored in a car outdoors. As soon as I realized how firmly stuck this head assembly was, I decided the drive was unrecoverable and started playing with it for educational purposes. Notice that I used a Seagate GoFlex eSATA adapter. These adapters apparently do not allow you to find the drive's serial number and firmware info, but instead only reveal the serial number of the adapter itself.
