Using a kitchen knife and a hammer I've opened a broken laptop charger to see what's wrong. This unit is a Upbright model number PA-1700-02. Upon examination I could not see any damaged or burned parts so I'll need to get a multimeter to see what part is damaged. Also, I've got a Toshiba laptop charger ADP-75SB - will open that one later. For some reason the video portion goes in and out of focus a lot. Update: Turns out there was nothing wrong with the charger. The AC cord was bad.
